The sun rose on this early September morning, flanked by brilliant, blue sky on all sides without a cloud in sight. It covered the barn with it’s bright, cheery light and the farm came alive as wedding preparations were under way. Family from far and wide would be coming together to celebrate Khuong and Amy.
Your wedding day is about family. The two of you, committing your lives to one another and becoming a brand new family. The family that has given you life and raised you. And the “family” of friends who has poured into your lives.
The bride had been given away and all of the guests sang songs together. Khuong and Amy exchanged vows under the canopy of trees in the yard where Amy had grown up. They kissed for the first time as husband and wife while happy cheers erupted from the crowd. Then they danced back up the aisle, ready to celebrate!
We stood in the old hay barn, sunlight leaking through the slatted walls, and watched as two families, two cultures, came together to celebrate the love of Khuong & Amy.
Jade plants filled every style of container you could imagine. Mugs, bowls, vases, & planters graced each table and would taken by every guest as a blessing.
A blue grass band, played lively music from the hay mow while guests, young and old, spun around on the floor of the barn.
Just outside, Florence, the food truck from La Ferme, was parked next to covered buffet tables. The caterers moved quickly as guests filled their plates with pulled pork, rolls, and fresh greens from local farmers. Cold refreshments were covered with ice in big galvanized tubs while the meal was topped off with melt-in-your-mouth pies from Country Blossom Farm.
Everyone gathered around the tables in the barn while best friends and family members toasted this newly married couple. They told stories with anecdotes that sent laughter rippling through the crowd. statements of love and well wishes were bestowed upon them.
New friends were made, dozens of selfies were taken, and the sky lit up with glorious shades of purple, orange, red, and pink as the sun slowly sank behind the barn.
This evening fit Khuong and Amy perfectly. A laid back and joyful celebration of the start of their life together with an emphasis on all the right things:
Khuong and Amy,
We loved working with you two. Your easy going nature and steady love for one another was such a good reminder to keep what it is most important at the center.
Getting to know your families while experiencing the wonderful mix of cultures was such a treat!
Thank you for sharing your story with us, laughing with us, and simply being yourselves.
Congratulations!
