This Minnesota fall senior session was so much fun despite the cool temperatures and relentless wind. Though it’s possible Kayt was an icicle by the end.
If Kayt was freezing you really couldn’t tell. She laughed and smiled through the entire session! We’re sharing a few of our favorites of her senior photos below!
We keep imagining what we want to be when we grow up.
Then, we suddenly realize that these kids we know who should all still be 10 years old, are actually the 18 year olds. They are kids-turned-adults and they are poised on the edge, ready to take off.
First, this makes us feel old.
Second, we recall that we felt so mature and knowledgeable at that age. We don’t feel all that mature and knowledgeable anymore 😉 Maybe we’ve finally realized that the more you think you know, the less you really do.
Third, we are so excited for them! This is a big change in life…whether it feels like it or not. There are so many exciting things ahead!
A lot of people tend to focus on the negative side of every part of life. You’ve probably heard many complaints about being an “adult”. But the truth is, life is what you make of it.
There will always be tough stuff. There will always be hardship. There will always be disappointment.
But guess what….
You get to choose how you will look at life. You get to choose what you will do with this one life you have.
Choose to see the good. Choose to view things through a different lens. Choose to reach out to those around you and lift everyone higher.
We know you love Jesus. You know that we love Jesus. So we know this won’t be weird coming from us 😉
You are about to step out into a new chapter of your life. It will be so stinkin’ exciting! It will come with so many new, wonderful things! Enjoy them.
It will also have hard moments, just like life does now. Part of growing up is maturing in how you deal with the hard stuff that is thrown your way. Practice maturity…it doesn’t just happen. Look at every hardship as a chance to grow, to mature, and to come out a better person.
We feel like a lot of people expect Jesus to make their life easier, to give them what they want and make them happy. And when that doesn’t happen, they blame him for not loving them.
But that wasn’t ever what God promised to us. In fact, He told us we would have trouble. He knew this wouldn’t be easy.
We live in a world that is broken and will always be broken until Jesus returns. We can live in the brokenness alone and without hope…or we can live in it with a hope and understanding that this is our temporary home and that we are never alone. You already know that hope.
“Take heart, I have overcome the world.”
As you walk through life, cling to the hope of Jesus. He is the only one who will never fail you.
We know you are going to do amazing things and we can’t wait to see.
Love,
Abby & Brandon
