After it had rained all week, this gorgeous, sunny day could not have been more welcome! The ground was still spongy but the light was perfect and the family was beautiful!
Last week, we posted about some of our favorite tips for working with littles and we definitely used some of them while photographing the Nohl family, but I must say, little L was just the sweetest, funniest girl. As soon as she had warmed up to us and felt she could trust us, she was ready to get photographed! It might have helped that there were some peanut M&M’s awaiting her after we were done with photos 😉
It was so fun capturing these memories for the Nohl’s and getting to know them just a little bit better while we photographed. The kids brought all the charm and adorableness you could ask for…I could hardly click the shutter fast enough to grab all those hilarious faces and cute personalities.
Toward the end of the session, when the kids were winding down and ready to be done we let them play with Brandon while I photographed Quinn and Jacque…aren’t they just adorable? I love the images of just Dad and Mom…where it all started.
It’s easy to forget how we started when there’s sweet and crazy children in the mix who require so much of your attention. And we change as we become parents and grow together, figuring out how to care for these littles and how to raise them up in this world. But it’s so important to remember that it all started with just two people, that once upon a time it was just the two of you with all of your attention and love to give to just each other.
Family is so beautiful and worth every ounce of energy and love it requires and we love to photograph it. When we prep for our sessions with our clients they always say they want some of the family and some of the kids alone if possible, they are thrilled if everyone will “just smile for one photo”! We always take the time to capture those requests, but we also make sure to take the time to capture the love that started it all and remind our sweet couples that they are worth celebrating too.
Thank you, Nohl family, for letting us be a part of your family for the evening!
