Danny & Nikki { Woodland Engagement Session }

Danny and Nikki are such a relaxed couple. This session was full of jokes and a lot of silly faces in between. We love hearing the pieces that have built our couples’ love stories. We always ask to hear the main ones: “How did you meet?”, “When and how did you start dating?”, “When did you first say ‘I love you’?”
Danny and Nikki’s engagement was very sweet…and apparently rather long 🙂 He gave her 15 presents to open! And she took her time going through them (can you imagine his anticipation waiting for her to get through all those gifts!?). The third gift held a sweet poem, and the last gift had a ring. They announced their engagement with a mannequin challenge video! So cool!!
But my favorite story they shared was the “I love you” story. When we first asked, they looked at one another…”ummmmmm”…. (we feel the same way! Neither of us can remember who said it first or when we said it…clearly we love each other now so I think it’s fine).
Suddenly, Nikki says, “Oh! You said it by accident!”
Obviously, we had to know how Danny could have said “I love you” by accident.

While dating, Nikki brought something in to Danny at work. They chatted for a few minutes and she turned to leave. Danny, rather off-handedly, says “Thanks…love you!”

I’m sure we can all imagine Nikki’s face as she turns back to look at him. She said Danny’s eyes got wide, realizing what he just said, but he covered smoothly….
Flashing a smile he says “You know, like a friend!” and then gives Nikki the finger guns.

I left you some space there to go ahead a laugh. We sure did. It might be my very favorite story ever and it so perfectly fits these two. Clearly, they love one another as friends and much more 🙂
