There are times when feelings seem like something you can actually reach out and touch. The air hangs heavy with a sense of whatever is happening in the hearts of those around.
The atmosphere at this intimate wedding was that of hope. It was palpable. You could feel it as hope wrapped itself around your shoulders like a big warm blanket.
Speaking of warm blankets, it was also a very cold, September day. So any kind of blanket was a good one 😉
This wedding was a new experience for us as it was the very first time we did not photograph a wedding together. Brandon was unavailable that day but our dear friend, Heather, of Heather Scott Photography joined Abby for this special day.
There are always moments that you remember more vividly than others, even as photographers. The beauty of photography is that you can look back over the whole day and recall so many wonderful parts of the day, but there will always be specific moments that you won’t easily forget.
You could see it written on every face as family and friends gathered to celebrate the bride and groom. You could hear it in the voices and the vows as Anthony and Heidi committed the rest of their lives to one another. You could feel it in the air.
During the ceremony, one of those special moments of impact happened. After sharing their vows, Anthony and Heidi stepped over to a blank, white canvas. They each picked up a paint brush and dipped it into the paint. One in blue paint, one in green paint. Then, standing side by side, they painted onto the fresh canvas.
A simple, sweet, heart. One side green, one side blue. A visual representation of what their marriage would be. Side by side, two unique individuals coming together to make one complete heart.
We love that this will hang in their home, reminding them of the commitment they have made and the love they have for one another.
Rings were exchanged, they were pronounced husband and wife, and then the groom kissed the bride!
After the ceremony was over, guests surrounded the couple. Hugs and tears were flowing freely.
Then Anthony and Heidi sat down, facing each other while family and friends gathered around and prayed blessings over their marriage.
Expressions of love and thankfulness for what God has done were offered up and more tears flowed…including from my own eyes 😉
Brandon and I always say that we are photographers for the joyful bride and groom because we are joyful people. Celebrating love, hope, and healing fills us with so much excitement we just can’t keep it to ourselves. We are joy-filled photographers.
Each time we look at these images from Anthony and Heidi’s wedding we feel that hope and joy falling fresh on us again. We hope you feel the same way.
